Legolas

Legolas is a prince of the Woodland Realm, the great Elven forest ruled by his father Thranduil in the north of Mirkwood. Keen-eyed and light of foot, he can run across fresh snow without breaking it and pick a target from a distance no mortal archer could match. On the board he begins at the Woodland Realm, deep in the Elven north — a long way from Frodo's early road, but perfectly placed to steady the Elves (green army) and hold the northern forests against the Shadow.

His strength is reach. Where other warriors must close and trade blows, Legolas answers threats with Valor at a distance, thinning enemy ranks before they can overwhelm your line. Think of him as the team's mobile marksman — an agile traveler who follows the fighting wherever it flares and turns a losing skirmish into a clean rout.

The whole team shares one victory: complete every Objective card, then let Frodo cast the Ring into Mount Doom — all while keeping Frodo's Hope off the bottom of the track. Legolas contributes by being the Free Peoples' answer to shadow troops. Every Orc, Troll, or Southron he clears is one fewer enemy marching on a haven, one fewer die rolled against Frodo when he searches, and one less chance the Shadow overruns a position and drains hope.

Because he is strong wherever a battle breaks out, Legolas frees your other heroes to do the delicate work — escorting Frodo, feeding him symbols, capturing strongholds. You win by keeping the northern and central battle lines from collapsing so the team never bleeds hope faster than it can recover, buying the turns Frodo needs to reach Mount Doom.

Legolas lives on the Attack action. When friendly and shadow troops share his location, he shifts the Eye of Sauron to that region — pulling Sauron's gaze off Frodo — and then rolls a battle. His archery leans hard on Valor: with a Valor symbol in hand he can "Show Valor" to remove an extra shadow troop after the roll, turning a middling result into a decisive one. Hold Valor tokens and Valor-bearing region cards for him whenever you can.

Between fights he is a natural Traveler, redeploying quickly to wherever the shadow line is bending. At an Elven (green) location he can Muster Elves to rebuild a defense, and at a haven he can Prepare to bank the symbols his bow runs on. Keep a Resistance symbol nearby too — its "Fate" reroll lets you salvage a bad battle roll when it matters most. His loop is simple: travel to the threat, shift the Eye onto himself and away from Frodo, and clear the enemy with Valor before they ever reach a haven.
